24 Hours!

So, we have 24 more hours to prepare for the trip of a lifetime. We'll take one more trip to Target, Best Buy, and I'd like to find something else to give to the foster family when we meet them. Maybe chocolate? Tea? Even if it's not the kind they like, I guess it's the thought that counts, right? I'm also leaving a gift for the birthmother which will be kept in Ty's file at the agency in Seoul. It will be waiting for her if she ever decides to check-in on his status/adoption. I'm still thinking about what to write in a note to her. She gave Ty and US the gift of life. I want to relay our deepest gratitude, and give her peace of mind that Ty will be in a loving home - with LOTS of friends! :)

Now ... onto packing!
Until we meet again! Love to you all.

There's a buzz in the air ...

We're down to the wire, and it sure feels like it! I purchased a few last things to take on the plane for Ty: a toy cell phone (not too noisy), toy keys, a magnetic drawing board. (Thanks for the suggestions!) Our [policeman] neighbor installed the carseat. Ty's winter coat is in the coat closet & we'll hang a little hook for him to use by the door. :)

My cousin reminded me of Psalm 127 today. "Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it ... Children are a heritage from the Lord ... " It is God that has hand-picked our little Ty for us. When I start to feel anxious about things that could go wrong, the sleep deprivation, possible bonding & attachment issues, I have to remind myself that it is ALL in God's hands. We can be assurred that He will give us all the GRACE we need for each moment. We're looking forward to seeing how He will continue to provide "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think ..." Eph. 3:20

Thank you for your continued prayers.

Preparations

Four days and counting! Dana & I leave on our flight on New Year's Day at 12:40 p.m., Lord willing. We'll fly out of JFK airport & will have a 14 1/2 hour trip before arriving in Seoul, S. Korea. We're busy making last minute preparations around the house & trying to come up with things for a 16mo. old to do (and eat) on the return flight, Thurs., Jan. 7th. We can hardly wait!

Thank you for your loving support and prayers for us on this wonderful adventure. I'm looking forward to giving updates along the way!

Love from Carrie & Dana
